What are the characteristics of bevel gears?

Bevel gears are conical gears that are conical, used for transmission of two vertical shafts, but are also suitable for transmission of two shafts at other angles. Normally, a horizontal drive device is used to drive a vertical pump. Bevel gears have a wide range of uses, especially when the two shafts intersect, the distance between the two shafts is very close, the transmission power is large, and the rotation ratio is fixed, the bevel gear is most suitable.

bevel gear processing process

Bevel gears are processed on a special gear-shaping machine. It can also be processed on a milling machine, but the size and shape of the teeth are insufficient. The bevel gear is often processed by a combined method, that is, preliminary processing is performed on a milling machine or a horizontal milling machine. As for the finishing, that is, the calibration of the tooth profile, it is performed on a machine tool dedicated to processing bevel gears.

The process of manufacturing bevel gears consists of the following processes. The processed blank is placed on the mandrel, which is fastened to the indexing head, and the axis of the indexing pivot is turned into an angle equal to half of the cone angle of the blank. After the blank is installed, use a disc module milling cutter to mill the tooth groove to the full depth; at the same time, the milling cutter should be consistent with the modulus of the small radius of the milled gear. In this way, all gear teeth are milled. As for the indexing, the indexing head is used in ordinary methods.

What are the characteristics of bevel gear products

Bevel gears use many mechanical transmission methods on various machines, the main ones are belt transmission, chain transmission, friction wheel transmission, gear transmission and tandem nut transmission.

The gear transmission, generally speaking, is to enable one shaft to drive another shaft to rotate when it rotates; or to change the rotational motion of one shaft into linear motion.

Its main characteristics are: there are compact teeth meshing between each other, and the torque transmitted is much larger than that of belt and chain transmission; its transmission efficiency is also higher than other mechanical transmissions; and it can be used in a large transmission force. Keep the speed ratio between the two shafts unchanged. There are many types of gears. Generally speaking, they are divided into cylindrical gears, bevel gears and worm gears according to the shape of the tooth surface.

Commonly used spur gears and helical gears are cylindrical gears, which are used to drive the rotational movement of two mutually parallel shafts, while bevel gears (bevel gears) are used to drive the rotational movement of two intersecting shafts. When the teeth of a pair of bevel gears mesh with the transmission, the situation is very similar to the transmission of two semi-conical friction wheels.
